Hola from McKayville

Well as much of the public may now have observed, the entity previously known both publicly and privately as "The New Year Project" has absolved to undertake such an awesome task as to that of the entire dissolving of all previously known titles and that of a complete reformation of said titles. Furthermore it can be said that the new name of such an aforementioned entity does in all actuality prove itself worthy of such an exclamation as to the affect of "It kicks Butt!!!" It is the sincere desire of all involved parties in the matter of the reformation, that the public shares this sentiment of Butt Kicking as a most appropriate and fitting description of the result of the reformation. If this proves itself true, then it would be most fortunate if all persons feeling so impressed to do so would submit such testimonies to the public eye as evidence of their opinions.

In other words, we changed the band name, we hope you like it as much as we do, leave a comment.

It's Good To Be Back Home Where There's Snow and Ice Cream Cones

Hey Friends (a.k.a. you), The New Year Project just recorded two songs (scratch recordings), that you can listen to and download right now! Hope you're all excited! Cause I Sure am! Everyone was begging them to record some more songs. And we were like, maybe after we're done eating some cake. And then they were like, but if you eat so much cake, you're gonna get fat. And then we were like, but we want to get fat. And then they were like, well that's okay then.. but you still need to record some new songs. So we were like, okay, after we're done eating some cake. And then they said, well that's just fine. So.. here ya go.

Roses

Snoop Doggy Dogg...Snoop Doggy Dogg..
I pretty much believe that he can say anything, and just because he said it, it sounds like the coolest thing ever. I mean, the only reason California Gurls is even remotely passable as a song ...or so bloody (explicit content.. viewer discretion is advised.. I mean.. hearer.. discretion.. ?) popular.... is because Snoop Doggy Dog (ha ha ha, I love saying that) magically let's the stars align and lets himself recieve the inspiration of... not... pidgeons.. and opens it with "greetings loved ones.. let's take a journey".... Oh! And And And! I think I came up with some of the best actions of my career of coming up with stupid song actions for "I Would Die 4 U". I mean, I don't know if any of them beat the "prison is walking" action in Desperado.. but some of them could be close! Like Me and those cookie dough shakes you get in Heber! (mmmm..) Which is saying something! I mean.. I think the "prison is walking" action is basically the greatest thing to ever come out of my head. Well, that and the squirrel thing. I mean... what squirrel thing?
Now I shall no longer type anything!
Now read it all again like Issac Hayes.
Or like Morgan Freeman.
In fact.. read everything like Morgan Freeman. (I lied.... but not like Morgan Freeman. Morgan Freeman doesn't lie)

:$ (look! A guy with a mustache that looks like a dollar sign! I wish I had one! A dollar sign, not a mustache..)

I'm sorry I brought it up! Ahhh! Don't try to imagine it!

You Must've Known I'd Post This.. Before I Did.... da da da da, da da da da, da da da da, da da da da,

So I basically can't decide if this video is creepy, hilarious, or freaking epic. Or all three. It could also be a soviet trick to brainwash us all.. :)
So this is a russian singer in the 70's that ROCKS at lip syncing, Let me tell you :)
And you'd never guess that the song title is actually "I Am Glad, Because I'm Finally Returning Back Home"
Unless you did guess that.
In which case, you are hereby accepted into NAFMAP (National Association for Mind Readers and Psychics)
But you already knew that, didn't you?

Concert!

TODAY IS THE DAY! Did everyone save up your five dollars? No? Well then here's what you do, go to the nearest bank with a ski mask on while wearing hockey pads and demand for the five dollars. If they refuse, then threaten to send Jack Nicholson to stalk them for the rest of the year or until he eats them. That is how you get your five dollars.

(Please note that The New Year Project does not condone robbery, threats to send people to stalk them, cannibalism, or any other type of illegal activity. The New year Project cares for your safety and the safety of the community. Thank you.)

So I was lazing on a monday morning.. and I decided I might as well do something productive. So this is what I came up with. I suppose I've been listening to The Orb, DJ Shadow, and Massive Attack way to much... but I think it's kind of cool :)

Anyway, here's the link to the song I put together today :) All the music is original... But.. well you'll see :) It's my first try at this kind of thing...

Kason's Favorites

So My Very Good Friend James the other day, asked me what my favorite artists of all time are. Well, this was my answer....
I wouldn't take this is as a definitive list, as this is very subject to change. (especially 4-6, they move around with each other every day). It's just what I came up with off the top of my head. Also, it's just Rock Music. I didn't say any Classical composers, as that's not what I think he meant. If I were to include those, it'd be completely different. It's also not the BEST artists of all time, as that list would also be completely different. It's just my FAVORITES. (Yes Ty, there is a difference) :)

1. Radiohead
2. The Beatles
3. Led Zeppelin
4. The Rolling Stones
5. The Kinks
6. The Who
7. David Bowie
8. Bruce Springsteen
9. The Velvet Underground
10. The White Stripes

I think it's generally accurate, off the top of my head and all...
So in case any of you were wondering... (and didn't already know..)

Those are Kason's favorite artists of all time! :)

Also weird.. My other friend asked me what band I would be in, if I could choose from any of these.
I chose The Who... and yet they're not number one.
I have no idea why...

Mysteries of the Music World Vol. 3

Is it just me, or did Sean Paul invent his very own language that nobody else can understand? I mean, in the song "Temperature", does anyone have any idea what he's saying? Aside from the random "Seana Paul"'s he throws in there. I guess his name is said with an 'A' at the end in Seanpaulanese. But I do have to say, that although I don't know what it means, I agree with his charming sediment "Well Uman Di Wayden Time" that begins every chorus. How did a song that is sung in a made up language become so popular?

It's a Mystery!

Mysteries of the Music World Vol. 2

Faith by George Michael has been stuck in my head, all day. I don't really like the song.. but I heard it sometime, and I've been singing it all day! "I gotta have faith!!" Yeah! :)Why do songs that you don't like get stuck in your head?

It's a Mystery!

Mysteries of the Music World Vol 1.

In the Song "I Miss You" By Blink-182, why in the world does the person who sings the first verse, not sing the whole song? His voice is much better then the singer who comes in at the second verse, with his ear piercing, almost obnoxious enough to smash the radio words "WHERE ARE YOU??" And I for one, have a head. Not a Yed. But that's just me...

It's a Mystery!

Person Pitch

It's a rare occurrence, falling in love with an album. I've done so with this one.

Person Pitch - Panda Bear.

Please, listen :)

It's like The Orb and Aphex Twin had a party with The Beach Boys and The Kinks, in the house of Brian Eno. Or something...

It's bringing sexy back... Yeah!

Acutally not really, but...

It's amazing! :)

Ode To Joy

Happiness is radiating through the world, is it not? Oh how wonderful spring time is!
I loved going to church today, and feeling the sunday feeling.
Here's, as promised as much as I can, the classical music of the feeling. Or the day.

- Symphony #9 in D Minor by Ludwig Van Beethoven
- Words will never quite be able to describe how wonderful this piece of music is. It has been called the "greatest artistic achievement in human history". Haydn once said that Beethoven was the most gifted musician that the world would ever know. I cannot disagree, with either things. :)

- "Surprise" Symphony #94 by Franz Joseph Haydn
- Violin Concerto in E, "The Four Seasons", Spring by Antonio Vivladi
- Requiem in D Minor - Introitus by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Whoa

Okay everyone, I made a HUGE discovery today. Actually not really, but I thought I'd share it with you anyway.

Styx's entire career is based on two things...

Awful Sci fi movies...

And..

The ending Piano part to "Street Fighting Man" by the Rolling Stones.

No kidding.

At least Dennis DeYoung's entire life is based on those two things. Tommy Shaw's songwriting was more based on the rest of "Street Fighting Man".

:)

Lego's rule.

Hey Everyone! I just wanted to share my creation that I made a few years ago when I was listening to Conference. Enjoy!

Like a Fire is Burning

Happy Easter Everyone!

I feel so happy today, so happy. I guess it's because I'm staying at my Grandma's house, and reading so many amazing books, and stories. And because it's conference weekend, and I've got to listen to the Prophet speak. Or, perhaps, it's because I've felt so much love lately. Thank you so much :)

I decided I'd share my favorite hymns today, as it is sunday, and sunday music time and all.

- How Great Thou Art
- Nearer, My God, To Thee
- How Firm a Foundation
- Teach Me to Walk in the Light
- Ye Elders of Israel
- The Spirit of God
- A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief

Have a wonderful easter, as I'm sure you are having :)

Random Fact: Led Zeppelin II is the first album I ever bought. The case is so awfully worn out, since I pulled the CD out and put it back in every day, back before the days of my lovely Ipod, and I had to rely on my CD player. I listened to it every day, and never got sick of it. I had to get the Led Out! :). It still remains on of my very favorite albums, and probably no album has done more for my musical.. education. :)

Two New

Well I got two new CD's today for the infinite collection of my CD shelf.

Since I Left You - The Avalanches
Odyssey and Oracle - The Zombies

The Avalanches was a surprise, I had never heard anything from it before. I just heard it was good, and thought, what the heck? Turns out it's fantastic. And The Zombies? Well, I was already a huge fan of them. It's the Time of the Season for Loving!!

And...

I pretty much watched Batman & Robin. Yes, the old one where everything they say is a pun. Probably haven't laughed so hard in a long time.
"Ice to Meet You!"

:)

Oh so true.

I was browsing around and I ran across this picture.
I wish I could do this so I could win some arguments.

WHOO!

Hey everyone! This is Curtis! I'm really excited that we have this now. Well, I just want to let you all know that I am super tired. I went to bed at like... 2:34 A.M. and I had to get up at around 5:30 A.M.. It was pretty intense. That is my news for the day. I'll talk to all of you, my tasty little Tatter Tot's, a little later!

McKay

Well here I am, back for more. This blogging this is kind of addicting. I just bought the new Vampire Weekend album, and I gotta say it's quite relaxing... and just plain awesome.

Weekend's Own

Maybe to get me to stop thinking so much

Me and Julio Down By the Schoolyard - Paul Simon
Natural's Not in It - Gang of Four
St Elmo's Fire - Brian Eno
Oh! You Pretty Things - David Bowie
Rocks Off - The Rolling Stones
Teen Age Riot - Sonic Youth
Staralfur - Sigur Ros

Or Maybe for me to just start thinking.

Well This is just cool!

Here I am in the world of blogging... I like it alot! I mean those last 8 words I just typed plus a dot dot dot... it just doesn't get better than that

McKay

Congratulations to McKay for joining the online cult of blogging if only through his band.
